This event will illustrate how two women explore their singular visions with both art materials and words.  Diana and Barbara, both painters and poets, will share and discuss how these two very different means of expression feed the creative process.  There will be readings from their collections of poems.  An exhibit of their artwork will be on display.

Barbara Blatt is an artist and poet.  A contributor to the recent publication of Dictionary of Symbols(ARAS), she continues to be a featured reader in many southland poetry venues.  She is an exhibiting artist represented by Gallery 825.  Her book featuring her poetry and art will be published soon.

Diana LaCom received her art training at Chouinard Art Institute.  An artist for over 50 years, her work is centered on images of the feminine in nature.  Her poetry evolved from her journal writing.  She has exhibited widely and her work is in many private and public collections.  Her teaching experience is now limited to working with adults in her studio, facilitating their creative imagination using art materials.
