Is our current environmental crisis summoning us for a new perspective on individuation?  Are we being asked to re-evaluate our experience of psyche and the natural world, to grow into a larger consciousness than that we have known?  Carl Jung (analytical psychology) and Rudolf Steiner (anthroposophy and biodynamic agriculture) spent their lifetimes addressing this new consciousness, both men deeply influenced by the work of Goethe.  Their common ground offers help in navigating the immense social and environmental issues we face.  Practical applications in the dynamics of “being in relationship with” and “dominion over” will be given, whether in analysis or our relationship to the environment.  We will experiment with a technique of Goethe’s to gather information, one that facilitates relatedness and openness to what is present.  We will also explore Jung’s treatment of the old Jewish legend of what happened to the Tree of Paradise after the Fall and the implications for our relationship with the environment.
